"BOCA" SEQUEL

Sequel or Alternative Ending to "BOCA":

"BOCA II - A New Beginning."

In consideration for how a studio might feel about a production where you kill-off the primary characters in two separate heroic actions, near and at the ending, there is either an alternative ending, or, my preference, a sequel to "BOCA."   Dramatic as it may be, the ending doesn't appear to leave much room for further possibilities.   But that is not the case!

The idea is not an entire sequel, but more like a "prequel to the sequel."   It could also be an alternate ending to BOCA, but that would not be my preference.

Okay, here it is...

Devon Trent wakes-up in a hospital room, calling Tracy's name.  Either Phil Gannon, or both Phil and Devon's father, Daniel, are by his side. One or both explain to Devon that he has been in a coma.   Devon briefly explains the dream he woke-up with...basically the last two scenes in BOCA...where first, Toby Clark, arrives at the memorial for Devon & Tracy, thirty years later, with his wife and two little girls.   (In 1972, Toby is Devon's eight year-old neighbor, and a passenger on the school bus Devon saves).   Then, Devon describes how he dreamed of ascending into heaven with Tracy in a beautiful sunrise. Phil explains that the door of the Mach 1 flew open during the crash, and Devon was thrown clear of the wreck, but when Devon went into a coma last night, the doctors still weren't sure if he would survive.   Devon becomes emotional, and tells Phil that he really wishes that he HAD died, after losing Tracy.

Phil reluctantly tells Devon that Doc Larrabie and Coach Brady didn't make it.

Before Phil has a chance to explain further, Lieutenant Wilcox is seen escorting Tracy down the hall in her bathrobe, covering a large bandage on her side.   As soon as their eyes meet, Tracy, despite her pain, runs to Devon and they embrace, in a hugely emotional scene.   Lieutenant Wilcox greets Devon, and explains that Tracy had only appeared dead after being shot on the boat, when her blood pressure dropped severely due to losing so much blood.

And so...Devon & Tracy's new life begins...
